SecureSpot Parental Reporting Feature
« on: May 19, 2010, 02:46:59 AM »

I use the SecureSpot feature on my router. I like how I can manage the different categories of web sites for different PCs and networked devices. I also use the Parental Reporting feature to keep an eye on the kids. However, the reporting service has been down for about a month and half now. The SecureSpot management website says it is down for upgrades and/or repairs. Does anyone know if this feature is ever coming back??  ???

Thanks.

Have you tried calling them?  Most of the posters here are users, we have no inside information.

Hi,

Will you also enjoy paying some $80 a year for this service ?  Personally I wouldn't.  All I want my router to do is be a router.  Securspot is a total kludge and as such it yields wonky results.  Beyond that, mcafee's antivirus is lacking as compared to others out there....

Hello,

Yes, I do not mind paying $30 per year to log all activity on all of my childrens WiFi enabled devices and block content on them by MAC address. I do not subscribe to the addition anti-virus as this service requires installing a client. Filtering content and logging require no additional tweaking on the client device.

Thanks,

G

don't tell your kids all they have to do to skirt things is to load something like AOL and use the AOL broswer....  AOL acts like a big proxy and all the router will show is maybe the AOL IP.....

Perhaps, this however is not the conversational thread I was seeking. Thank you.

Well for those of us using the SecureSpot feature it looks like parental reporting is back online.  :)
