Beta Area says new offical release: 1.34NA any good ?
« on: May 20, 2010, 06:06:05 PM »

Anybody set up the offical FW 1.34 yet ?  If so...any thoughts yet ?

Here's hoping it fixes things without breaking new stuff....

It looks like its the same file as the last beta that was released.  They just took the beta tag off of it.

I updated from 1.32NA to 1.34NA and am having connection problems I didn't have before. Have to power cycle the router to get re-connected. Posted in another thread. I may go back to 1.32 shortly, no problems then.

i'm dismayed to report i bricked my router upgrading from a working stock 1.01 firmware to 1.34 and have not recovered it yet!
SO frustrating, coming from the dlink site i naively expected it to actually work.

after flashing 1.34 the router keeps resetting itself until status light goes off and it stays with limited or no connectivity LAN.  i haven't been able to get into the GUI at ALL unless i open the router casing and physically remove the mini pci card from inside.  it then boots up and passes internet as a HUB, and GUI is available.  tried reflashing 1.31 without the wifi card, waiting 30, replacing while powered down and a 30-30-30 to flush nvram but am still stuck.  not pingable.
powered down, removed mini pci again, rebooted and in GUI confirmed 1.31 was listed as firmware.

does someone understand what is happening with this?

 ???

i used to have a working router!

Hi,

what hardware version is your router ?  It might be an A1 ???

I would try holding the hard reset button in for like 30 seconds at least.....maybe longer....let it reset 3 or 4 times...

Did you flash it wirelessly ?  or over a wired pc ?

hey, thanks for noticing my post!  have been in the dark..

it's hardware version A2.  flashed over ethernet.
i've done LOTS of resets, they result in a reboot that cycles a few times before settling into limited or no lan.  i did a ping -t (to send a continuous ping) and get fails during this entire reset time.  only when the card is removed do i get any luck.   :-[

I think with the original 1.01, you need to do incremental upgrades until you get to version 1.10.
You may need to do the trick with the Russian Firmware Version so you can downgrade back to 1.01 and then do incrementals up to 1.10.  After 1.10 you can go up to any newer version.
