Do I need 3 antennas for 300Mbps (Intel 5300 & DIR-825)
« on: May 23, 2010, 06:24:54 AM »

I'm using an Intel 5300 and I just realized it has 3 antenna capability.

I currently have 150Mbps showing in Windows 7 Network & Sharing but my D-Link Wireless Status reads as 81M and 86%.....I ran a LAN speed test and it wasn't that great and I seem to be getting  packet loss when streaming audio with advanced functions of J. River Media Center.

Can I buy two more antennas for this card, and maybe add two upgrade antennas to the router?

I'm all set up for 300Mbps but guessing range is an issue even if it is only 20 feet around the apartment (with wall in the way).

I'd rather not bring my hot and loud 6TB RAID box in the listening room.

thanks!
