i'm dismayed to report that in hopes of gaining "security updates," i killed my router by upgrading from a working stock 1.10 firmware to 1.34 and have not recovered it yet!
SO frustrating, coming from the dlink site i naively expected it to work.
after flashing 1.34 the router kept resetting itself (by working its way up the lights then flashing them, turning off and restarting) until the status light went off and LAN reports limited or no connectivity. i haven't been able to get into the routers GUI, or ping at ALL unless i open the casing and physically remove the mini pci card from inside. it then boots up and passes internet like a hub, and GUI is available! status light blinking 1sec on 1off.
tried reflashing 1.31 without the wifi card, waiting 5 minutes after completion to unplug power, replacing minipci while powered down and a 30-30-30 to flush nvram but am still stuck. not pingable with wifi card housed. powered down, removed mini pci again, rebooted and in GUI confirmed 1.31 was listed as current firmware (also obtained from dlink). this is an A2 model.
so after the upgrade, without the wifi card the status light blinks but router "works," with the card it resets a few times, status goes off and the router is dead.
can the minipci have a software problem in it caused by new firmware or is there a setting in the GUI to reinstall?
thanks in advance if some kind intelligent soul takes the time to help me out! i've been working on this forever...
