No connectivity
« on: May 27, 2010, 01:12:19 PM »

I have a 1522 that has a strange problem.  I have a trendnet TEW-639GR router with devices wired to it and laptops that connect wirelessly.  No problems with these devices.  DCHP range is 10.0.0.100-10.0.0.250.  The IP of the router is 10.0.0.1 and it is the gateway.  It handles static addresses below .100 just fine and also does well with reservations.

So, I plugged the 1522 directly into my NIC on my desktop PC with the 1522 set to Bridge mode.  I go to the setup wireless section and input the connection details to my wifi network.  It connects just fine.  I set the 1522 to dhcp and gave it a reservation on my trendnet router.  The 1522 picks that address up with no problems.

The problem shows up with my desktop that is plugged in to the 1522.  My desktop is on standard DHCP with no reservation on the router.  It gets an IP just fine but cannot connect to anything.  I cannot even ping my router at 10.0.0.1.  It does show this as the gateway but I can't connect to it or the internet.

Any ideas?

I have the same issue- except my computer connected to the 1522 won't get an IP address through my DIR-655 DHCP. Wireless is connected, but no connectivity from any devices plugged in to the 1522.

Watching your post to see if your solution helps me.

Fixed my problem, although, I have no idea why/how.

IP addresses-
DSL MODEM - 192.168.2.2
DIR-655 - 192.168.0.1
DAP-1522- 192.168.0.50

Set the 1522 to have a default gateway (inadvertently entered the wrong one) - 192.168.0.254.   When I did that, everything started working correctly. I would have thought the default gateway should have been - 192.168.0.1. I don't have a .254 on my network.  Strange, but it's working now, so I won't complain.

Check if that fixes it for you, perhaps it will, perhaps it won't.
