DIR-628 disconnects from internet

I have a problem with my router not enabling acces to internet through my Windows 7 laptop when my wife's Mac go to a sleep mode. As soon as the Mac is reconnected the internet access opens again. The Mac has a n-wireless card and so has my laptop.

Stupid question but are you using the mac's connection or the Routers. I know that some macs like the macbook pros can be used as a bridge for wifi.
