So I am a bit new to all this, I am an electrical engineer so I have some linux backgrounds but not as much as I may need at the moment. Here is my issue.
When I play a 1080p movie over the network from my DNS323 to my WDTV Box, it takes quite a while to load, and sometimes will skip during playback. I have heard that using a NFS file system instead of the samba one can speed things up.
I installed the addon for NFS with the new firmware on the DNS323 and "started" the service it seems.
I then went to network access to add my WDTV host to the NFS user list and added my "Movies" folder. I kept everything else default as I dont know what root squash does.
THis is where I am lost now. In my WDTV when I go to Media Server, I can still see my DNS323 fine, but it doesn't seem to be the NFS server. It is what I had before with the UPnP AV server running.
I go to network shares, and it is not listed the way that I setup with just being able to see the "Movies" directory.
Any help would be appreciated at all.
THanks!
