Hi, I've just bought a DNS-323 plus 2x1.5 To samsung disk (promo bundle)

Reading forums and others I've seen there's some problems with the current firmware which is installed on it (1.07).

I've seen on the dlink support web site that there's a 1.08 firmware revision but only for rev_C

Is H/W B1 equivalent to rev_B on their site ?
If then, do the support of H/W B1 has been dropped or 1.08 (beta 1.09) can be installed on a rev_B ?

My concern is that I want to be able to browse my files from :
- Linux
- Windows 7 & XP
- a popcorn hour A-200

I've no utility of BT for example.

What are your recommendations ?

The firmware 1.08 is for all versions.

For basic functions, you likely can run either 1.07 or 1.08, but you may as well run the latest. Not a big deal to update the firmware. I'd do that first though before putting data on the drives so that you have a few more options when setting up and formatting the unit.

One thing with a firmware update, I STRONGLY suggest after the update to reset to factory defaults and manually reconfigure the box.  This will shortcut a lot of oddball issues that sometimes surface after a firmware update.

Not sure where you saw that. On the dlink.com website under firmware, they are all listed regardless of hardware revision (http://www.dlink.com/products/?pid=DNS-323&tab=3)

You should download from the dlink website in your region (US, UK etc)

On the UK support site, you are prompted for hardware revision before you can download and Rev C isn't even an option. Not sure why that would be, unless Rev C is non-UK.

There is no difference, I only see one 1.08 on the D-Link site to download.  It works for any hardware version AFAIK.

I wouldn't like to say if you should download firmwares from different countries. On the US site there's a big red notice warning of a voided warrenty if you download that for a different country.

In fact I could download from FR site, but I was afraid that rev_C1 1.08 firmware is flagged to not be used on a rev_B1.

anyway, I've downloaded both and they are exactly the same...
