Wireless restart when phone rings
« on: June 02, 2010, 08:34:13 AM »

I have a dir-655 router connected to DSL modem. I have several wireless devices in the house plus a wired xbox 360 and Dish network receiver plugged into the router. Whenever the house phone rings, my wireless computers temporarily lose their network connectivity. In the router logs I see "Wireless Restart" messages. Can anybody offer help or suggestions?

You probably have wireless phone(s) that interference with your router.

Try to remove them from router and try again.

Also, since you didn't mention it, I'll ask.....  Do you have those DSL filters on ALL your house phones ?

Sounds like a DSL phone filter is missing off of one of your phone extensions.
