Dns-323 Dropping transfer connection

my little sister is trying to copy files from me in Utah and i am In Texas the files range from 1GB to 4Gb and when she tries to copy them she gets almost done then it times out.  i have not seen any settings to help stop this and i am now seeking suggestions i am at FW: 1.08 and router Dir-855 with 1.22na and i have 2 Dns-323's as well.  suggestions would be appriciated thank you.

Could the Internet connection be dropping out? Are you both wirelessly connected to your respective routers or wired? I've seen at least one wireless router bork at large files.

The only idle time settings I'm aware of in the FTP area of the web UI are between 1-10 minutes- not sure that's relevant.

WE are Both hard wired to the computers, it is only with large files 1+ gigs in size.  sometimes she can get them and more so not than so the transfer times out.  i have the settings in the configuration page set to 10 min timeouts as you have said.  it already takes about 45 min - 1 hour to transfter 1 gig+ both computers are running windows 7 not sure what else to do i have come across other forums with the same issue but they are a bit old so maybe dlink never fixed the issue? still open for suggestions.

I assume you are using FTP to do the transfer?  What firmware version are you using for the NAS?
