2 of 3 Wireless computers are working
« on: June 09, 2010, 11:03:51 AM »

I have a Dell Inspiron 1525 which I'm trying to connect via guest zone , it connects very well in all areas of my house. Actually too well because the guest zone schedule isn't working.
This is connecting at 54 mbps , But I cannot figure out how to get the guest zone to limit the times of connectivity.

I also have a Acer Aspire M5641 Desktop that I installed the D-link extreme N network adapter in.
This has great performance and is connected at 130 mbps.

And the third computer is a HP DV2000 that I recently re-formatted and installed windows xp onto.
This computer has a few issues, one of which being that the cmos battery is starting to die.
The time on this computer went from changing every time you booted it up , to changing while you are sitting there watching the clock. This can only mean failure is only a short while away.

Now the connection speeds on this computer are doing weird things.
At first when you connect it starts off at 54 mbps , then quickly drops to 23 , then 11 .. then just decides to drop completely.
Would this have anything to do with the failing cmos battery ? or is this an entirely different issue all together? maybe a wrong setting somewhere?
