I'm having the hardest time getting WoL to work with this router.  I've tried various ports (standard 9 and others) and doing it via port forwarding and application and still nada.  I kinow this is the router b/c if I connect any of the PC's directly then they get the magic packet just fine and turn on.  Funny thing is my old router did this just fine.

One thing I was always curious why don't manf. of routers have a feature to allow you to turn on PCs on your lan?  You already have remote management on these things I can't imagine it is that hard to put in a page to turn on or off your computers.

Having the same problem, having done the same thing must mean that something isnīt right here.
Also wondering over where all the ALG:s went?

Only thing I havenīt done, coming to think of it, is disabling SPI and try.
But on the other hand, who would want to have that?

Anyway, I will try tonight and get back with result in the morning.


  Nope, didnīt do the trick. Same problem. Made a support request to my local support, letīs see what they have to say.

Status as of yesterday evening:

Sent router log to Support team for further investigation.

and remember Smeden2 is most likely using EU router and Firmware.

Thatīs correct, iīm using EU firmware.

So far the only thing Iīve recieved is a staement that the "Magic packet" is a LAN-packet, so the router donīt know what to do with this.

In earlier FW the WOL was found as an ALG, but dissapered somewhere along the FW line.

Is there someone from D-Link in this thread that can pass this on to D-Link Support ?

It's a protocol issue. I'm researching it now. Can you forward the WOL port to a specific internal IP and get that machine to respond?

I get it working on my LAN so itīs not a config issue.
I use the Wake on Lan under Virtual server section under Advanced options.
I also tried to disable SPI, set UDP to  Endpoint Independent, Adress restricted but no go.

Is there a possibility to have a function under Network filtering that can send a Magic packet so I wont have to use the Internet at all, but the Remote admin of the router instead?

rofl ive noticed that it will work for about 5 seconds when i turn my comp off  but after that no longer works.

I'm frustrated at the missing Wake on Lan "Application Level Gateway" option that used to be there, but is now gone...

What gives?  I want that option back.

1. Turn off spi
2. Set end point settings
3. Under virtual Server add a port 9  but ip address should go to 192.168.0.255
4. Make sure your using firmware 1.11   version 1.2 and 1.21 do not  let u set the ip address to 192.168.0.255
