Is it possible for router to make modem lose sync?
« on: June 26, 2010, 03:33:32 PM »

I am beginning to become very frustrated and extremely unhappy with the network issues I'm having currently. In short is it possible for the router to cause my modem to de-sync and lose connection? Not the router itself but my modem?

My modem has recently adopted some lame performance and I am attempting to eliminate causes.

Thank you for any info...

No, I don't believe that's possible. Your modem losing sync would be from issues with the line or the modem itself going bad. Your router is just a passive receiver to the modem.
