Cannot print through DNS-323 to printer

I have a laptop from work that I use at home as well.  It is part of a domain, not a workgroup.  I'm trying to connect to the printer, but cannot see it or connect to it in any way, shape or form.

Any ideas for me to try????

You should be able to connect to workgroup resources using a local login.  I'm assuming you can login to the laptop when you're not connected to the domain, right?

Can you see anything on your local network?

Are you getting an error message indicating the domain controller was not found?

I only see the "Global" domain.  I don't see any workgroup.  The only local login is the administrator login, which only our corporate IT has access to.  I have a profile that is connected to the domain. and that's what I use for a login.

I suggest talking to your IT folks.  They may not want you using this machine outside their network, at least that's what it seems.

In most cases when a domain login is used away from the domain controller, local authentication is done using cached credentials, and any attempt to search for network resources results in an attempt to access the domain controller, since this dictates which of the available resources may be used, and when the attempt fails, an error message is usually generated - are you using a VPN connection?

It may be possible to connect to and use the printer via the DNS-323, by installing the printer as a local printer and then modifying the properties - are you allowed to install a local printer (connected directly to the computer)?

Yes, I can install a printer directly connected to the laptop.  I'll perhaps try that... adding locally, then modifying the properties.
