iTunes server crashes all the time
« on: June 29, 2010, 09:10:35 PM »

When I click the link for the iTunes server, the interface crahses and I can't log back into the interface for about a minute. I'm not sure what to do. It happens instantly.

Here it is with fw 1.08:

Now, with fw 1.09. the "disable" is only selected because I could select it after the crash. However, the "save settings" button doesn't do anything. Next time I return to this screen, it is enabled:

Does anyone have any clues? I haven't added any add-ons, or anything non-standard. I have mirrored 500GB drives. The file shares work just fine. Aside from this, the DNS-323 works great.

Prethanks for any helpful suggestions.

What internet browser are you using to access the web interface with?

It crashes with all browsers and client machines. This is a server-side problem.

But, to answer your question, Two different PC's. One is Windows7 (32), and the other is XP. I've tried with Chrome, IE8 and Thunderbird.

The problem is ONLY on the iTunes server page. Notice the colors are all wrong - no CSS is being loaded.

Same exact problem.
Turned off UPnP, tried chrome (instead of FF).  Same problem.
The thing is still chugging away though...and I'm not asking it to do anything, so is it building a daap database in the background or something and that is what is causing the crash?

First problem with this great little toaster.

Mine does that too. The hard drive lights blink nonstop.

I'm going to try renaming my root media folder.

Nope... didn't help. I'm actually glad that this is happening to someone else. It leads me to believe that this is fixable, since it isn't a unique problem on mine.

Factory reset? That might help...

I'm almost to the factory reset stage. That's so tedious though - with the big backup, all the settings, etc...

I assume that a factory reset will make the data inaccessible.

factory reset does not affect your data, and you can configure the box from scratch.

However it never hurst to back up your data before you do anything.
