That is quite picular. In this thread, two (2) different DIR-655 (different locations) are showing that intially after reboot, their respective internal networks are seeing optimal internet performance, then that performce takes a decline. Which, in both instances, the routers are replaced by there predisessors (previous network routers); and extended usage of those routers prove that there is no problem at the ISP side. Please comment, if while replacing the DIR-655, the hardware seamed heated, as if the device seamed to be overheating. Can you both verify that proper ventalation is accessabl;e to the DIR-655, to ensure heat disapation is occuring properly.
Slow internet ...over time, may be unsolicited inbound internet traffic, sometime indicative of internal network infection(s)/worm! Look at the DIR-655 log; does it show excessive packet blocks. If possible, can you post excerpt of log file activities. When, your looking at the log page of the router WebUI, clear the log... wait about ten (10) seconds and refresh the log. If the page reports a high volume of log entries (## log entries); I would suggest running a virus scanner on your network PC's.
