Errors in german language file - only on two pages???
« on: July 07, 2010, 10:37:15 PM »

After switching to the german language file on my DNS-323 I noticed some problems with the fonts.
Exactly on two configuration pages there are obviously problems with umlaut - they appear on the page as quite strange (double) characters.

This *only* happens on the configuration page for the ftp server and also for the upnp-av server, all other pages appear correct and show "real" umlauts.

Is there something I can do to correct this for myself? Or should I contact D-Link for an updated language file?

Hm, these pages seem to be fully correct for me. I use the "LANGUAGE.GER" Add-On, fetched from here: ftp://ftp.dlink.com/Multimedia/dns323/Apps/

That's exactly the file that I use. To make clear what I mean I have included a partial screen shot here. Please note the "Umlaut garbage" in the help text and the drop-down menu.....

PS just noted that my picture atrtachement does not work. How do I do that??

During this forum was down ( ;) ) I tried to reset my DNS-323 to factory defaults (in the tools -> system menu) but to no avail - the problem persists. Strange enough in the text file itself which can be opened with a normal text editor everything looks alright with the text.

Since I'm running out of options I will contact D-Link with a request for help.

PS I still wonder why I seem to be the only one with this problem? Or are we just two (in the whole world) who are running the german language file????  :o
