Need help with new router.
« on: July 08, 2010, 02:38:28 PM »

Hello I just bought a new DIR-655 router to replace my previous linksys WRT54G. I have 2 problems with the new router.

1. When more than 2 people are online at the same doing the least demanding of tasks the speed slows down from 10mb to a few dozen kilobytes.

2. On my WRT54G I got a ping of 30-40 average in most games with servers located in the new york area(where I live). On my DIR-655 my ping is in the 200-300 range. Even when noone else is on. I prioritized QOS so that I have first priority and even then no help.

Also I tried turning off wireless and no dice. I contacted D-Link support with my issue and they could'nt help me.

Any Ideas? Please help, I'm at wit's end and about to return this router!
