DIR-130 vs BEFVP41

We have been using a Linksys BEFVP41 for a client using an Aastra VOIP phone and a SunRay thinclient, there have been issues of packet loss and problems.
We substituted a DIR-130 with basically the same configuration and now it works perfectly.
Can anyone please explain the reason/difference between these two?
At first look the specifications seem to mirror each other.
This would be greatly appreciated!
