Slow Network Connection
« on: July 21, 2010, 09:13:50 AM »

Hi all.

I have a DNS-323 connected to DIR-655; I'm having slooooow transfer speed, its only about 4.xx mbps.

I'm using my onboard network adapter which is nVdia nForce on XFX780i.

Firmwares:

DIR-655=1.34NA, DNS-323=1.07, and yes my Network Adapter is with its latest driver.

Here's what I did so far;

Tried changing the Link Speed on both Router and NAS from auto neg. to 1000MBPS
Tried Enabling Jumbo Frames on Both NAS and PC with various MTU settings.
Checked and replaced my Network Cables and tried switching from Straight and Cross wiring.

All to no avail.

Is there something I missed? Please help.

Ooops. Already found whats choking the NAS-PC write; its the router itself.  ;D

Tried using a gigabit switch (DGS-1008D), transfer speed improved NAS to PC write with 8.xx mbps.

I'm starting to doubt DLINK Products especially the DIR-655 which really sucks. I'd suggest dont buy that router.
