DIR-625 and PS3 issues

This just started recently and, for now, I only notice it with one online game. I've not changed my router settings for months but the PS3 and this particular game have both been experiencing updates since E3. One, or both, have made the game unplayable, as in it freezes the game within a few minutes of online play.

If I bypass the router and go straight from the modem I experience no such issue.

I know it's basically a shot in the dark but any ideas as to why?
(And BTW, I've always programed my router to the settings officially listed by the PS3 specs.)
