Invalid Device Certificate when connecting to Win 7

I have been trying to add the DSM750 (firmware 1.02) to two different computers, one running Windows 7 Ultimate and another running Windows 7 Home Premium using the Windows Media Center interface.  After entering the eight digit sync code, Windows states "The Device certificate on your extender is invalid.  Please contact the extender manufacturer..."

I tried first on the computer running Win7 Ultimate and received the error. I then went to a laptop running Win7 Home Premium and had the same error occur. So, this is obviously a device issue. How do we update the device certificate?

I hate to say it, I think this product has been abandoned for the the Boxee.

Good luck with it too. I just started using a small laptop with an HDMI port. I does everything the 750 does and better.

The device certificate can only be updated by the manufacturer. Did you recently purchase this unit new?

No, I have had it for several years. There was no manufacturing date on the back that I could find, but one of the labels said it was hardware version A1.

Isn't D-Link the manufacturer? How will you go about updating the device for Windows 7?

Yes D-link is the manufacture but there is no update for Windows7. The DSM-750 already works fine in Windows7. Did you have this setup as an extender in Windows Vista previously? Have you tried contacting technical support at all?

Well, I would have to take issue with the statement that the DSM-750 works fine with Windows 7. If it did, I wouldn't be having a problem.

To answer your questions, I never used Vista. Our computers went from XP to Win7. I haven't called the tech support number, but I thought *this* forum was a tech support board.

The setup of an extender is just about as simple as MS could make it. It fails when retrieving information from *your* product. What is the fix?
