Slow homeplug and dir 655
« on: August 02, 2010, 01:22:09 PM »

I have the following connection:

hp home server > dhp-300 homeplug > (powerline) > dhp-300 homeplug > dir-655 > (wifi) > macbook pro

when transfering files between the mac and home server I experience a very slow line. If i connect only through the dir 655 everything is ok. I have tested using a 7 gb file.

Is there a setting in the router or the homeplug that can fix this. I thought the homeplug could handle 200 mbits?

Homeplug is not flawless, your electricity setup (groups, phases, wiring) determines the quality and speed. As with wireless Homeplug has a lot of overhead, so you will be happy getting 70 Mbps out of 200 Mbps Homeplug. No setting on the DIR will solve that.
