What encryption and wireless mode and band are you using? What is the model of your wireless card on your LT?

I was using WPA2 - AES - 2.4 g & n 20/40Auto - Channel 6

Laptop has a Intel 5100 AGN.

As for now, I have disabled the encryption and used MAC Filtering. Only prob is it will be inconvenient when guests come over and want to connect.

Been hearing alot of word lately about Intel wireless. Wonder if there is an issue here too. How about trying G mode only at 2.4Ghz?

As for guests, do you have a lot of guest that come over? I just keep my password on the router and any comes over I just give that to them. No big reason to have guest accounts and such if you don't get a lot of guest traffic.

Hmm.... Well I got the DGL4500 for the N network so I could stream stuff over the network faster. Going G would defeat the purpose.

1.22NA fixed the wireless errors / packet drops so it isn't as bad as 1.21NA however.

I would try G mode only at 2.4Ghz and then N mode only at 2.4Ghz and see what happens. Again, N only provides a faster connection and doesn't mean faster xfer rates. Seems like N is still a big issue with every router. 2.4Ghz should be good though. I use it. If your still loosing connection then you need to check the PCs wireless settings and drive. There has been issues with Intel and other wireless brands.

Way I think about it is Wireless G is like a Edge connection with your cellphone, but Wireless N is like a 3G or 4G connection. Sure, 3G is faster, but theres less towers, which means less signal. So you can either go with more slower signal (and this faster rate) or less faster signal. Rule of thumb I use, if you have less then 70% signal level, use G. More, try using N if compatible.

Updating to newer FW is not going to resolve his issue i believe. I think there is an issue with the LT wireless Intel card not keeping alive the connection over a long period of time if left unattended.

Well i didn't have any issues when I was on my DGL-4300 so I don't think it's my intel card.

I left the comps on over night again to test it out and my router dropped connections on the wired and wireless

Ok, sounds like it's the 4500 then. Even after doing a factory reset and using default settings does the router do the same thing? If so then I would contact Dlink for RMA man. Let us know.

I might give 1.23NA a try. Is there anyway to rollback to 1.22NA if it is worse?

I love how everyone is so against FW updates.

Not against updating, just advising that if it works, your not missing out on anything. If your having problems, troubleshoot everything and then use updates as a last resort.
