There seems to be lots of spam across all of these boards over the past couple of months.  It's cleaned up relatively quickly, but a pain nonetheless.

Yes, very true.  We're kind of an abandoned board, no mods to monitor it well.

So is the DIR-657 forum.

The boards: "DCS-1100/1130", "Digital Video - Software", and "Digital Video - Hardware" seem to have been abandoned from the day of their inception. Not a single post from a D-Link representative. Aside from periodic spam removal, there's no sign of moderator activity.

Ya, theres been some discussion and some external information that seems to point to priorities for the forum being re-arranged and thus the forum suffers from this. Been told that the forums are due for a change and possibly someone might be working on it. Can't say for sure. There are over due for an overhaul IMO. I have expressed concerns about this and other issues I see. Overall, I hope they or someone at DLink will understand that this is a great place to find help and I believe it helps them on CS expenses initially. Just need some corp. figure to realized that the forums are an asset to the company and lets keep it going and make it better. Of course, the bottom line is, money.  

All we can do is be a squeaky wheel and see if we get the oil.

One hanging question I have is whether D-Link actively monitors the suggestions on many of these boards. In the past, D-Link actively communicated with users on the DNS-343 boards and user input impacted subsequent firmware updates (a few of my own were used). However the key moderator "D-Link Multimedia" left for new employment in mid June, and there hasn't been any moderator activity since. Other boards like the DCS-related boards have a fair amount of user activity, but we have no idea whether any of this material is read by D-Link.

I believe they are monitored however not as much as in the past. I see one moderator that seems to visit one of the DNS forums once in a while. He was on Tuesday I think. I mainly see 2 others, an admin and a mod only when I submit for Spam or I email them about a possible Dlink issue that I feel they should review. Other than this, I believe they are doing other things and again, it's down to priorities, and the forum is probably at the bottom of the list. Hard to say though.

If we wanted action we could start a campaign to call their support lines repeatedly. I called them last week for a method of contacting the people in charge of the board, and they said they would send me a email. Two weeks later...nothing. So now I am going to contact them by work email, to their corp office. See if they ignore that.

I'm just astounded by the disparity in post-consumer support when comparing D-Link to Netgear. The forum has more of a community feel to it. A number of long standing members were provided with pre-release hardware to test and report on, and the moderators (Netgear employees) spend quite a bit of time on the boards throughout the day.

Great deal on this monitor.  I think it's an HP.  I bought one for my kid to play XBOX on and it's been great!
