File transfer issues
« on: August 18, 2010, 12:05:01 PM »

Hi

Firstly its my first post on here and hello to everyone  :)

My problem:

I have a dir-615 and have noticed that transfers from the wireless pc (which uses a rangemax WN111v2) to the main pc always fail at around 50%...this is only happening when a second lan port is used on the router - which i use for my WDTV Live.If i unplug the wdtv from the router the transfers don't fail.I experimented a little by flashing the router with DD WRT firmware and the problem disappeared completely,i went back to the d-link firmware 4.11 and the problem has appeared again. Is there a setting that i need to change on the dir-615 that gets rid of this problem?

also, the transfers only fail from wireless pc to main pc,sending files from main to wireless are not affected

thanks in advance

I think the 'setting' you need to change is to re-install DD-WRT ;)

If you are one for self inflected pain, you'll need to look at the logs on the router to see if it's a dropped packet / disassociate reason / etc., as well as logs on the PCs that are dropping the file xfer.
