DGL-4500 drops wan cable connection exactly every 4 hours!

It still says cable connected on the status page but I can't access the internet. DHCP release/renew fixes the problem. What could be causing this?

I can't answer the question but I can put a bit more detail that may help with the folks here at D-Link.

I am also experiencing this issue.
Running the MS beta firmware.
Using PPoE with always on connection and DHCP.
Connecting via Ethernet to a Fiber to the home, always on connection to the Internet.
Edit to add: The logs do not show anything abnormal between when the device stopped responding correctly to the wan link and when I reset the connection.

My situation is a bit different than the other poster in that mine usually stays up for a few days before dropping the wan link.
I notice the wan link is down when I pick up my vonage device and it says that I can not connect to the vonage network.
I checked the status page and it says the wan link is up and everything is fine.
Disconnect the network cable plugged into the wan port then reconnect or Disable the wan and re-connect and it fixes the issue.

If there is anything I can do to help track this down please let me know.

My ISP is hotwire communications! Its an apartment building so interference could be a problem but I can't understand why it drops at exactly 4 hours and a simple DHCP release/renew resolves it everytime.

In my instance is it an Allied Telesyn Residential Gateway RG223 for the fiber modem.
My ISP is XMISSION.

It would seem that my router isn't the cause of the problem. I moved back home for spring break and replaced my home router with my DGL-4500. Our home ISP is verizon. Its worked for over 20 hours without dropping the connection!

That sounds like either a lease time or a ACK issue on the wan side. Have you asked the ISP about this?
Also is this the only router you have this issue with?

When this occurs, prior to the release and renew... from the STATUS tab >> DEVICE INFO page note the DNS Address(s). Next, perform the release and Renew. Do you still have the same DNS Address(s) that were noted? If they have changed, then, you need to discuss with your ISP why this is occurring. Usually even if your DNS Address changes it should not stop request from reach the specified DNS Server. Let us known what you find?

This issue hasn't happened for a while so all seems well. But I did note that information the last time it occurred. The DNS adresses, IP address, and gateway all stayed the same between DHCP release and renew cycles.
