acer TravelMate 2300 connection problem
« on: August 22, 2010, 07:42:59 PM »

hi all,
I would like to know if anybody has had any problems setting up a wireless connection through a D-Link DIR-655 from an ACER laptop, model TravelMate 2300.

I am able to go through the setup, everything looks OK, however, whether I put my laptop near the router, or I move upstairs, the connection is unstable (shows Excellent and Very Good, and then drops to poor, all these within 20 seconds or less). The result is that I can't load any Internet page. The other DELL laptop doesn't seem to have any problem.
Is there some legacy protocol that has to be enabled so that the ACER will work as well? I am thinking the DELL and the D-Link are both (much) newer than the ACER and they probABLY use some protocol that is not fully understood by the ACER wireless card?

Thanks a bunch,

You might need to update the drivers of your Acer's wireless adapter.
