100% Strength signal, but nothing else.
« on: August 24, 2010, 06:12:57 AM »

I just purchased DIR-615 N Wireless Router, Installation steps is ok, 100% wireless signal received from my lap top, but no internet, nothing coming to my Xbox 360 either, even the direct wired connection still get no internet.

My desk top is XP, my lap top is Vista, after checking internet connection, and they found no problem. Please let me know what I needed to do, I live in small town, Northern Canada; local electronic dealer doesn't know what to do at my situation either. Now I am back to old fashion way: use my old wired router!

Please help.
Thank you very much

Did you reboot your modem after you connected the dir-615? Sometimes they need to resync after a new router is added. Try unplugging both the modem and the router from their power source for 30 seconds or so. First reconnect the modem and let it settle for about a minute, then restart the router. Also, have you configured your DNS servers in the router's settings?

Since you are on DSL, did your ISP give you a PPPoE username and password? you need to set them up on the router's configuration page.
