How do I install the Bitorrent download?
« on: August 26, 2010, 07:27:38 PM »

Hi,

I know what Bittorrent is, but, what do I do with the file from the D-Link 343 download page? It's not an executable. How do I use it?

Thanks.

1) Insert the CD of the DNS-323
2) Click Easy Search Utility
3) Click the BitTorrent button
4) Go to the Downloads page of the DNS-323
5) Click "Add Torrent From File"
6) Click the Browse button
7) Locate the torrent files you downloaded
8) Click the Add button

DNS-323 should then start downloading.

I guess he is asking how to install the add-on.

Go to the Advanced tab on the web interface of the NAS and click Add-on. There you can upload the file downloaded from DLINK. (The Add-On button is available only to recent firmwares i.e. 1.08)

Than to use the BT logout from the interface and log in again, but this time click the Applications button to login. You will find a new BitTorrent tab.

P.s. I have used BT in the past. Its wonderful the first two weeks. Then it will crash the web interface with its errors. Using Transmission is much smoother, though more complicated to install for a beginner.

I posted this in the wrong forum as I bought a 343, but, in any case, that did it! Thanks.
