FW Updates and Broswer "Interference"
« on: March 25, 2008, 10:46:31 AM »

Hi,

This is somehwat of a shot-in-the-dark based on some observations I have seen here.....

Has anybody (especially those of us having updating/configuration File issues) noticed what browser and Version you are using when you try to work thru the various scenarios when updating FW and then working with the Configuration File Imports etc.... ???

I "Think" I have seen issues using IE7 and newer (such as the new IE8 Beta from MS) and then say repeating the same steps using another browser like Maxthon v2.0.8 where it seems the firmware updates and configuration file Saves will re-import properly....

Certain things seem to not happen when they are expected TO happen...such as the Configuration Settings being carried forward when you update the FW, when from my reading, the FW update process should not bring the old configuration settings forward ???  Or am I wrong on that point....???

Or is it simply that the Beta FW has fixed some of these issues like Access Control being all messed up ??

Is it me or am I seeing real browser specific issues ?  Any thoughts ??

I've had issues with access controls and restoring settings after firmware updates.

Running:
IE 7 on Windows XP pro SP2
Version   7.0.5730.11
Build   75730

I have not tried other browsers.

Cheers
