Multiple "LAND Attack" Warnings in Log File (A2; ver 1.34NA)
« on: September 02, 2010, 12:47:08 PM »

My DIR-655 is HW A2, running firmware v1.34NA.

I've been getting what appear to be false positive multiple 'LAND attacks' on my router.  I don't know how long this has been occurring.

[WARN] Thu Sep 02 14:57:13 2010 Blocked packet from 192.168.0.1 to 192.168.0.1 (LAND Attack)
[WARN] Thu Sep 02 14:57:11 2010 Above message repeated 77 times

My network setup is:

Timewarner cable modem --> Dlink DIR-655

On the Dlink I have connected:

1 ethernet connection - to a laptop
1 Linksys PAP2NA VOIP adapter connection (has reserved LAN IP)
1 Slinglink ethernet adapter connection
1 Hawking range extender (wireless, has reserved LAN IP)
4 wireless laptops (each has a reserved LAN IP address)
1 Tivo wireless connection

That's it.  Nothing else is on the system.

My AP is 192.168.0.1

My range goes from 192.168.0.2 to 192.168.0.247

Nothing else has changed in my network setup for a year or more.

I know from reading the Wiki what a LAND attack is.  I don't believe I'm actually being attacked.

I've searched these forums and have not found a solution to fix this issue.

Can someone please assist me with fixing this?  Is this related to the firmware?

No need to fix. The firewall blocks the attack, as it is supposed to do.
This can just as well be a 'false positive', this happens quite a lot with all brands of routers.

So sit back and relax  ;)
