SecureSpot registration
« on: September 02, 2010, 01:42:57 PM »

Hi there,

I'm wondering how can I register for SecureSpot?

The links
https://securespot.bsecure.com and
http://dir-655.bsecure.com

are not responding...

Is this service still available?

Thanks,
Dmitry.

Hmmm... I tried from different computers, ISP (from work and two friends). It the same from everywhere:
"The connection has timed out
The server  is taking too long to respond."

That's strange...

Hi Dmitry,

In order for the links to work, SecureSpot must be enabled in the D-Link Router.
You are not posting your Firmware Version? Is SecureSpot enabled? Does your Firmware Version, support SecureSpot?

securespot is enabled. firmware version is 1.34.
ping to dir-655.bsecure.com shows 50 or 100 percent lost.

Hi Bugor,

Are you using any Anti-Virus programs and Firewalls on the computers? Use those programs rather than relying on a Website that you can't reach.

Call D-Link Support if you want to use it and have them check the site, which may be having problems.

I have the exact same issue.  Both URLs resolve to the same IP.  Almost 100% packet loss.  I have securespot enabled, but none of the internal links on the control panel work.

I have been having the same poblem for the past 3-4 weeks.
The sites are extremely slow to respond, timeout, generally unavailable.

I called Dlink and they defer to Bsecure.
I called Bsecure and they said they are having server problems, but would not elaborate nor give an eta for availability.  That was 2 weeks ago.

Its actually been going on for 3-4 months and bsecure said its a server issue I paid $60.00 with 3 computers covered with mcafee thinclient and new computer wouldnt register finally I turned it off every time I try to turn it on and go to the site thats linked from the crappy router it times out.

I dont know what the issue is but i'll never use Bsecure or Dlink again not getting ripped off again. maybe its a win 7 issue??? Nope the tech at bsecure said it was thier server fix it already.

My guess is they did expect the cost of bandwidth for filtering Use Opendns.com its free and it filters bad stuff just as good as bsecure. My version 134 na dir 655 hardware version 4a something like that.

ps it worked great then it got wierd then I updated to version 134na and its never worked since so maybe they fixed it by killing it.
