Eeeeew, HP printer with Windows 7. I feel your pain. Honestly though thats a better question for the HP forum. You can do it manually, but some HP printers make it a real pain. Try using the CD and installing "drivers only". The CD application has a utility built in that can detect your network settings and configure alot of the more complicated settings automatically. Just if possible, DONT install all the extra stuff HP tried to put on your computer. I can tell you how many times I have see HP Updater screw up people's computers. Blahhhh!

I had it connected with my old Linksys WCG 200 but with my current setup I am running through a Motorola Surfboard "eXtreme Cable Modem" SURFboard 6120 (DOCSIS 3.0) and this here D-Link 4500

It was connected before but the ip address was below the defaulted range, < 100 - i think it was 13.  Anyways, I removed the printer device from my computer and it won't detect it. ...

I would set it up manually...see if you can install the HP Port Monitor, then go in and set up the IP address that is printed on the config page. Once you have the port in Windows, then you can direct Windows to the driver on the CD or updated from the web. Trust me. I know HP Printers.  ;D

Ooooh, do you know HP printers like I know a certian ISP? ::grin::

But yea, manual is best, but sometimes that is easier said then done. Not on the printers end, or the routers end, but certain settings in the computer. If you can help him though, rock on.  :D

I got it to work.  I have the Mac address filter on and I had to find the mac address from the printer and add it manually; all better now :)

And my ping went back down to 20's  ...with the computer off or out of the DMZ zone, and with GameFuel setup correctly and on.  So it must be something on my isp end or the server end.

I love this new Router!

kewl, glad to hear you got it working. Ya this is a pretty good router. Havn't had any issues, and feel lucky. I do wish the N 5Ghz wireless was a bit better however Dlink isn' the only one with the problem.  ;)

I think what may have been slowing things down also was WISH was on..

I haven't got UT 2k4 installed.  Everyone say it's a great game but I just couldn't get use to it after UT99

You should give UT3 a chance, more and more players are trying it so the community is growing.  It's a great game!   I ususally play TDM on the Beer Drinkers server or DM

SO I got 2003 loaded and the ports added in gaming in the 4500. Does the 2003 game need a purchased user account to play online or what? Never played online with it. Also do I need to install updates for it? I notice I'm getting a authentication fail message when connecting to online game. Ya, I'm a noob at UT2003 LOL. Let me know.
