Internet Connection problem
« on: September 02, 2010, 04:09:18 PM »

Two days ago I lost my internet connection as I was surfin the web. I tried resetting my modem and my router, nothing worked. I have dsl and run through a D Link router. I finally called Verizon (my dsl isp). The service tech tested my line and said all was good. He then had me set up a new connection. He said my router was bad. He had me connect directly to the modem. He had me click on

Then click on:

Then enter my account info. Now I can connect to the internet through this connection I can even disconnect from the router and goe wireless and with this connection I somehow can connect to the internet. When it is set to go through my wireless network it does not work, I cannot connect to the internet,

Does this make any sense to anybody? Is my router really broken, cuz it does not seem like it is to me. I just can not access the web through my router through my wireless settings. I am running Windows 7. I have a D Link dir-615 router and a westell 2200 dsl modem.

Since you did a reset on your router, you need to configure PPPoE on your router again.
