PPTP VPN Routing on DFL-800
« on: September 15, 2010, 11:27:23 PM »

I have a DFL-800 with which I would like to set up a PPTP VPN connection. The connection has been established (by creating a PPTP client on the DFL-800) but I am not able to connect to this from a laptop (for testing) connected to the DFL-800. The "Automatically add a route for this interface using the given remote network." has been checked. I tried setting up a NAT instead of the routing for this with no avail.

When I try to connect by using the MS VPN client directly from the laptop, it fails with a 807 error. The ports 47 and 1723 are open and the remote address is on the whitelist (of the DFL-800).

Does anybody have any tips?

Don't try a VPN from behind the FW you are VPN'ing into.  It is silly at best, as you traffic could just be routed locally and it will not be handled the same by the firewall.

Check the interfaces listed on your PPTP server and User Auth Rule, I believe they do not mention LAN currently, nor should they.
