Is securespot still a problem?

Thinking about picking up a DIR-655 but all the feedback i get is securespot ruins these routers.

Never used securespot or had any issues from it.

I assume this is because I never signed up for any trial of securespot and have always had it disabled since I first plugged the router in.

Well yes you get this option but I hear from user feedback that even after doing so securespot still enables and ultimately disables you from connecting to the internet because your 'trial' has ended.

Never had Securespot enabled and it has never enabled itself or bothered me in any way.
