Using DIR-615 to extend DIR-825

Any tips on how to best set this up? I just bought a DIR-825 to replace my 615 hoping I would get some better range, however, it actually might be a little worse, still playing with antenna configurations.

Now that I have both though, what is the best way, if possible at all, to use the 615 to extend the wireless range of the 825. Thanks.

Third-party firmware might be the answer.  If your DIR-615 router is supported by DD-WRT
(http://www.dd-wrt.com/site/support/router-database;
see also http://forums.dlink.com/index.php?topic=13263.0), you could try setting up the DIR-615 as a repeater station.  I did this with a DIR-825 and a Linksys WRT54G router.

This is a "try at your own risk" idea.
