Port forwarding back in time. 655
« on: October 07, 2010, 08:59:28 PM »

Firmware Version: 1.33NA
Hardware Version: A3
Product Page: DIR-655
30Mb/5Mb@W7

Ok so first of all I just wanna say hi to everyone since Im new here ;)

I have little problem with this actually I have to say awesome product which is dir-655, I know there are lots of problems with firmware but thats nothing new. I upgraded to 1.34 but had some problems with stability so I decide to go back to .33 which is pretty stable. I used reset to manufacture settings but funny thing is, my router rebooted itself few minutes ago, and something happened that change my ports back to LIKE 2 YEARS AGO! which is kinda funny. It sets some azureus (which I dont use for a while now) and steam, in this case I set that port forwarding long time ago and I removed it quite some time now. Everything else seems to be set as I did right after downgrading to .33, wireless password network filters firewall etc.... Any ideas? I dont really care about those ports open cause I can use them for torrent anyway, and steam i use time to time so it doesn't matter. But when I need more than that, and routers decides to remove other entries and put only those two! And I did rebooted, ports looks to be set properly.
And should mention that I had this problem few months back, but I just changed ports back the way I want it, and it stayed that way. Now again its happening :(
On those two ports for azureus and steam, I think I used 1.31 firmware, so I just dont understand how it got there.

On the other hand, is setting ports with virtual server will have the same results as port forwarding or whats the difference ?

May be reading your browser cache.

Close browser and clear the cache then retry.

If that does not work then push and hold the reset button on the back of the router until the lights flash.

After the router finishes rebooting reflash the firmware.
