Dir-600 was fast now its slow

i recently bought a dir-600 wireless router from a friend
and i connected 1 laptop wirelessly and a pc through number 1 lan port on the back
all was well for the first 2 days but now the internet through the router is slower than dialup
the settings havent been tamerped with the only that has been changed the ssid and a wep key has been added other than that everything is pretty much left alone.
i tried the pc wired directly to the cable instead going through the router and the internet worked just fine.
i plug everything back in through the router and it goes bad again
someone please help
im on windows xp, using optimum online, and the dir-600 if thats not enough info tell me what else i need to show
