655 rev B not working with wallwatcher?
« on: October 15, 2010, 05:04:12 AM »

Just purchased a Rev B DIR-655.  I have it set up to send syslog information to another box running wallwatcher.  I am getting lots of information from the 655, but its all status/message type information. Nothing about inbound or outbound traffic.   On the 655, I checked all the boxes for what to capture:
  System Activity
   Debug Information
   Attacks
   Dropped Packets
   Notice
And I never get inbound/outbound info.  On the box running wallwatcher, I have gone into the setup, and all the boxes are checked for the information to show.

Do new REV B 655's work with wallwatcher?  What did I set up wrong?

thanks!

Did you check the logs on the 655?
I have Rev B, F/W 2.0NA and see no useful information in the log files even after enabling all settings you mention.

If log info is not in the 655 log, it is unlikely it will be passed to your server running wallwatcher.
This leads to the question, did the 655 even log the requested information?

Can you check if you can access the ALG section on "Advanced->Firewall Settings" page?
Do you see the ALG section or does it end after DMZ host section. ALG section should be after DMZ host section.

I'm trying to determine if the problem I reported in Sept is a Rev B, F/W 2.0NA thing or just my 655.

The log info on the 655 is the same info that is being passed over to the wallwatcher box (dhcp requests etc).  I do not see any useful traffic information on the 655 itself.

I checked that section and the last thing I have on that page is DMZ Host.  I reflashed my firmware with the same version off the dlink website.  No change.

Thanks for your reply!

Thanks for confirming
It looks like there are some issues with Rev B, F/W 2.0NA
Anyone else out there seeing similar issues?
Missing log info
Missing sections in webpages?

i'm seeing the same thing on the new HW Ver B1. Nothing under DMZ Host.

has anyone tried saving config to a file, changing sip_alg=1 to sip_alg=0, then reloading the config? I am going to attempt this tomorrow.

i tried it but it wouldn't work. the checksum probably didn't match after the change. i tried to put 00 at the end and removing that but it wouldn't take it.
