Im sure this has been asked 1000's of times but..

The DLG-4500 I have a chance to get this router fer very little $$. However I have heard about the issues and firmware fiasco. I am just wondering if this is fixed, or if there is a workaround or if its not even a problem. I really need a new router and $$ is an issue, I cannot really afford a router over $100-$120. What do you guys think. Thanks in advanced for your time.

My 4500 has been holding strong since day one. To be honest, alot of the issues you heard about were human error. Not ALL ofcourse, there were certianly valid issues, but once blood is in the water so to speak, people start assuming any issue is a firmware issue. If have the chance to get the 4500 for under a 100, grab it. Its a great router.

Thank you for your reply. I am pretty set on purchasing this router. I just wanted to make sure i was not purchacing something that would dissapoint. I am a gamer and I know.. you are not supposed to use wireless but the current situation I am in I do not have much of a choice. I just need something better then my Linsys WRT300N (by far the worst router i have purchased). Thank you again.

My 2 4500s have a been the greatest. I have tried other competitor brands and they just don't seem to perform as well as the 4500 when it comes to gaming. Really enjoy this router. Let us know how it goes when you get yours. Here to help set up and help out if needed.

Also, not for nothing, but we have a really great community going here for support. Thats pretty hard to find. Its one of the main reasons I personally recommend D-link. Now I just wish Dlink would invest a bit more interest it. (Beta 4 eva?)
