Samba don't start

Hello,

(1.08)

After a reboot no more shares.
nmbd is running but smbd not.
what's wrong ?
No log for samba !!

No more users but smbpasswd is here with the users.

When i reset factory defaults all is ok and when i load my config, no more shares.

Reconfig manually, something may be corrupted in the config you're saving.

I have four NAS running and i want to find the problem.

I'd reload 1.08, just in case something got corrupted.  Do a factory reset after the new firmware load.  If it still dies after that, it has to be either something corrupt on the disk or the NAS is dying.

You said that the issue was resolved after a factory reset, but not after loading your configuration. It would seem from your description that something you are doing after the reset is causing the issue.

But, there is a solution for to trace the problem ? no log for samba ?

Don't know of any way to trace it, but many ills of this box seem to be cured by a factory reset and reconfiguration.  A long time ago, I had to do this.  If you have a working config saved, and it's for the same firmware version, that will normally get it working.

I'd get it working, then save a config, that way you'll be prepared if it ever happens again.
