Power Light goes from bright to dark
« on: October 27, 2010, 08:04:34 PM »

My DNS323 power light goes from a bright blue to a dark blue quite frequently now. Also on a fairly regualr basis, its no longer showing up on my network, although the network indicator is bright blue and sometimes flash.

It's not even a year old yet. I'm wondering what's going wrong????

The power light goes dark when the drives hibernate. Check your drive power settings in the web interface.

What do you mean exactly by "no longer showing up on my network"? If you are referring to the Windows network map - that's unreliable most of the time.

I have the DNS323 plugged into my D-Link Wireless Router, for 2 computers I have wired connections, for a laptop wireless. Anyways, on Wiindows 7, I had the 2 drives mapped. And would see them on the Network window, now they show up with big X thru them, I disconnect & and try to remap, still no luck.
Also Quick search utility doesnt see the DNS323 either.

I guess the question is, what's changed in your configuration?

Can you ping the NAS by its IP address?

No changes in anything, no new hardware etc etc. Tried pinging 192.168.0.32, destination host unavailable. The both drive lights are blue, network connection is blue, flashes occasionally

I've been having problems before, but usually fixed them by either restarting or unplugging/replugging network cable.

Are you sure that is the IP address? Have you assigned it a static IP address (recommended) or does it obtain one via DHCP?
