Right... Im quite good with computers in general but cant just quite work this one out.

I have a wanadoo livebox and have 3 laptops and a blackberry all connected wireless. We have a big house and you cant get signal from one side to the other so ive bought a router (DIR-655) and want to use it as a different access point so i can use it wireless at the other side of my house. i had it working for a day then i dont know wat happened but i cannot seem to get it working again!

i have it setup like this atm;

phone socket > wanadoo livebox <via ethernet> d-link dir-655 <via ethernet> laptop.

i cannot view the settings on the dir-655 because it doesnt have internet access wen it is plugged in or connected over wireless. i can connect to my wanadoo livebox fine and then as soon as i plug in the router via ethernet the internet access goes.

i dont understand y this has happened but something must have changed to stop allowing me to have internet access whilst connected to both. when i first set up the dir-655 it worked a treat, but now i cant do anything wen its plugged in, it just says no internet access.

can anybody help please?

Hi, which one is giving you the IPs (setup for DHCP) for your devices??  Not sure what a wanadoo livebox is and how it connects to the d-link.  Sounds like you have conflicting IPs between the d-link and the wanadoo livebox.  When you say ethernet is that hard wire??  You can check out my post at http://forums.dlink.com/index.php?topic=15661.0.  I use this setup to get to the other side of the house to the deck for a laptop.  It requires some hard wire and one wireless router setup with no DHCP.  The IPs are assigned by the dir-655.  Thanks, Luke.
