Can't set up GUEST zone for Access Point
« on: November 14, 2010, 07:39:50 PM »

Hello,

I just set up a DIR-655 without problem. The main and GUEST connections work fine. Since my house is large, I have a CAT5 cable that runs from a LAN port in that main router to a SECOND DIR-655 at the other end of the house. I configured that second DIR-655, as directed, as an ACCESS POINT - I disabled DHCP and set it at 192.168.0.200.  The cable goes into one of its LAN ports. I gave it exactly the same SSID and WPA passwords as the main router - and it works fine!  I have a strong signal and internet connection all across the property.

Here's the question: on the main router, I set up the guest network as well and it covers fine with internet. I set up the GUEST on the access point the same way, and it has NO internet connection (no internet on the guest on the access point 655).  Is there a setting that I'm missing to get this GUEST on the access point to work as well? Please explain if this is possible.

Thanks,
Russ
