DLINK 615 hdw rev C1 with firmware 3.12 loses connect
« on: November 21, 2010, 06:51:07 PM »

I upgraded to the firmware 3.12 and ever since then I frequently (4-5 times a week) loose communication with the the router (from all computers on the router, wired and wireless). I am unable to get to the router's IP address from any computer. Yet all lights on the DLINK appear normal. Of course, no connection to the internet either. I have to power off and power on the DLINK to recover.  It has even happened twice within one day. I have not seen any pattern to these outages.

I am doing an out of the box operation (other than setting wireless key) so I am not doing anything fancy.

I have called my service provider and my modem and signal appear to be solid with no outages at the modem that they see.

This evening, it started happening again but this time I would loose the internet connection but could talk to the DLINK. I poked around the logs and saw nothing unusual. I have to power the DLINK off and on to restore  my network connection only to loose it again within 15 minutes. Again, I could talk to the DLINK admin but not to the internet.

Has anyone else seen this problem? I see there is now a firmware 3.13 which I will apply but the fixes don't mention anything about dropping internet connections.

Any other advice? What might I look at or look for in the DLINK logs?
