device server

I ahve just loaded shareport 64, and it says device server not found...I have a DIR825. is there something I need to check, or uncheck to make this work? I have spend around a few hours on the dlink site, and messing in the router  controls...no luck...Win 7 64 bit

Have you checked that your DIR-825 has Shareport enabled firmware in it? If not, you need to upgrade your firmware.

If you have Shareport enabled firmware i suggest that you try older version of Shareport on your computer.
I tried Shareport versions 3.0 and 1.17
3.0 did not work but 1.17 works. (in XP 32bit and Win 7 64bit)

My router says that I have latest firmware, is there a different firmware I should be looking for?   thanks for your input. ???

You should check firmware updates from D-link site of your country.
Go to www.dlink.com , choose your country, search for DIR-825, look downloads section for firmware updates.
Read the firmware release notes to find information about changes made.

And remember to read the instructions about updating your routers firmware before updating!!
