DIR-615 hardware C1 router won't stay connect.
« on: December 04, 2010, 09:32:24 AM »

I have this router for about a year now.  I got a good deal on it from Fry's Electronics for $19.99.  It's been working well except maybe this week and once more other time.  Basically I cannot stay connected over night or certain amount of time.  I have not program it for time out or any thing.
The first time this happens, I upgraded the firmware to 3.13NA and the problem went away for a while until this past week.  When ever this happens, the status LED turns Yellow and blinking.  I had to reboot the router to get my internet back.  I also had to turn off my DSL modem to get the internet connected again.  If I just reboot the router it won't connect and the yellow status light just blink.  When the internet works, the status light is green blinking.
I would much appreciated if anyone can shed some light on this.  Maybe I just buy another router.  This happens with my older Linksys AT&T router too and when I bought this one, it stops and now it occurs again.

Thanks.

Unfortunately random disconnects with the factory firmware are common. There are a few threads around here discussing similar problems and temporary solutions with various degrees of success.

But if you feel up for it, you might want to give http://forums.dlink.com/index.php?topic=13599.0 a try.
