Constant wireless activity
« on: April 28, 2008, 08:52:20 AM »

Hello again folks,
I have another newbie question and I hope I don't bore yo9u guys to death ;)

One day, the Internet Gateway component (WinXP SP2) got installed on my system without my knowledge. When I saw this new network connection with constant activity, I got a little uncomfortable and started researching on it. I found out that it was linked to the router and showing me its activities. I currently don't have it installed anymore but I'm thinking that the constant activity that it was showing had to do with the constant blinking of the Wireless LED light on the router. I have WAP security enabled and I never see any outsiders listed on the router's status page when I check from time to time. So, I just needed someone to confirm that it's normal to have the kind activity that the LED and Internet Gateway shows.

TIA...

Rich,
Yes both the Icon and the wireless activity light are normal operation.
I wouldn't worry about them unless you're noticing unknown devices on you network.
